Gempa bumi di Virginia yang dekat dengan Washington DC pada 23 Agustus 2011 lalu sempat menimbulkan keheranan karena kejadian gempa bumi di pantai Timur, East Coast, yang antara lain terdapat kota Washington DC dan New York,  sangat langka dibandingkan dengan di pantai Barat, West Coast, yang antara lain terdapat California, seperti terlihat pada data berikut ini. Belakangan ini muncul beberapa kejadian tidak biasa di sekitar tanggal yang memuat angka 4, sehingga seperti terkait dengan aku sebab namaku Firman yang dalam bahasa Belanda atau Jerman kata “fir” berarti empat. Seperti yang sudah aku tulis sebelum ini, Pesan Bill Gates Soal 13-14 dan Respon First Lady Soal Bill Gates 1314 terkait tanggal 14 Juni 2011.

Dan menjelang tanggal 24 Agustus 2011 muncul berita mengenai Gempa Langka Di Washington DC,  gempa bumi di Pantai Timur Amerika Serikat, atau biasa disebut dengan East Coast, dengan kekuatan M 5,8 berpusat di Virginia pada 23 Agustus 2011. Gempa itu juga mengguncang kota Washington DC dan New York, dua kota terkemuka di dunia yang memang berdekatan dengan pusat gempa di Virginia, sehingga para pekerja kantoran harus berlarian keluar gedung-gedung bertingkat untuk menyelamatkan diri.

Untuk kota New York, gempa dengan kekuatan M 5,8 itu merupakan gempa yang baru dirasakan lagi setelah gempa serupa 67 tahun yang lalu pada tahun 1944.

Gempa di kawasan East Coast merupakan kejadian yang jarang terjadi, beda dengan di West Coast. Seperti terlihat pada data diatas yang aku buat berdasarkan data yang ada di situs USGS, gempa di California hampir setiap tahun terjadi dan itupun untuk data diatas sudah aku batasi dengan data yang cuma dari tahun 1980 dan yang berkekuatan M 5,5 keatas. Bandingkan dengan gempa di Virginia yang meskipun dari data sejak tahun 1897 dan dari kekuatan lebih rendah yaitu  M 3,9 keatas, cuma ada tiga kejadian sebelum gempa 23 Agustus 2011 yang lalu.

Demikian pula dengan New York yang juga berada di kawasan East Coast seperti Virginia, terlihat pada data diatas bahwa sejak tahun 1884 cuma ada enam gempa dengan kekuatan mulai dari  M 3,3 keatas.

Para pekerja kantoran yang berlarian keluar gedung-gedung bertingkat untuk menyelamatkan diri di New York maupun Washington, mengingatkan pada gempa awal September 2009 di Tasikmalaya yang juga menyebabkan para pekerja kantoran di gedung-gedung bertingkat di Jakarta berlarian keluar. Ditambah dengan kelangkaan gempa di East Coast itu, sehingga menimbulkan kesan ada pesan penting dari langit untuk kita berdua.

Waktu aku mencari data-data mengenai gempa itu, aku baru tahu bahwa walikota di Washington DC yang menempati jabatan itu sejak awal tahun 2011 ini bernama Vincent C. Gray. Nama belakang Gray itu seperti kata yang berarti abu-abu, sehingga mengingatkan aku pada rekanku yang bernama belakang Abu yang  dulu pernah dekat dengan seorang cewe yang sebelum itu dekat sama aku, tapi kemudian hubungan mereka tak berlanjut ke pernikahan karena si cewe kemudian menikah sama cowo lain. Sehingga seperti pesan agar aku menikah sama kamu untuk kemudian aku ketemu ajal sesuai status kamu sebagai Ema untuk aku, seperti tanteku tante Ema yang tetap hidup setelah sang suami Oom Noel wafat. Sebab kalau tidak, aku cuma akan menjadi penyebab bencana.

Ada lagi soal lain yang menarik untuk diperhatikan. Pada 17 Agustus 2011 yang lalu aku menulis pesan Twitter kepada Bill Gates mengenai pak BJ Habibie yang dalam wawancara di Metro TV hari itu menyebutkan butuh dana 500 juta dollar AS untuk melanjutkan proyek pesawat N-250. Aku merasa perlu untuk memberitahu Bill Gates sebab pak Habibie menyebutkan bahwa ribuan sarjana Indonesia, yang merupakan aset nasional, terpaksa harus pindah bekerja ke luar negeri akibat penghentian proyek-proyek pesawat di perusahaan yang waktu itu bernama IPTN pada tahun 1998 sewaktu krisis moneter melanda Asia.

Pak BJ Habibie dikenal pula sebagai “Mr. Crack”. Seperti disebut oleh Abraham Furqan pada sebuah artikel yang dimuat di Kompas.com pada 1 Mei 2010, pak BJ Habibie disebut dengan “Mr. Crack” karena kemampuan beliau menghitung besar kerusakan yang terjadi di sayap pesawat. Pada awalnya dinding pesawat merupakan campuran material aluminium baja dan lain sebagainya yang cukup berat, ketika pesawat tinggal landas maka sayap pesawat terkena impact yang cukup besar hal ini mengakibatkan terjadinya crack yang sangat kecil sehingga jika pesawat melakukan penerbangan yang cukup lama, setelah beberapa ribu jam terbang akan menyebabkan tingkat kemungkinan sayap akan patah menjadi semakin besar. Kemudian seorang BJ Habibie mempelajari kejadian ini sampai akhirnya muncul teori tentang kerusakan ini. Perhitungan matematis yang ditemukan oleh BJ Habibie merupakan ilmu yang sangat hebat, karena beliau mampu membuat sayap pesawat lebih tahan dan mampu mengetahui tingkat kerusakan dari sambungan sayap dengan body pesawat terbang hingga dalam bentuk atom. Teori ini disebut crack propagation at plane of hypersonic.

Dan ternyata pada gempa 23 Agustus 2011 lalu di Washington DC telah terjadi crack pada Washington Monument, suatu menara besejarah di kawasan White House.  Menara Washington Monument sering nampak pada foto-foto ketika presiden AS sedang pergi atau pulang naik helikopter di halaman White House.
